FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
BROWS:
What is microblading?
Microblading is part of the permanent makeup category and a form of a tattoo. A specialized technique that implants pigment into the dermal layer of the skin with a sterile, manual disposable needle. Mimicking the appearance of natural hair strokes that will enhance and define your brows.
How long will my permanent brows last?
Results may vary. These procedures are permanent, even though they will fade tremendously, the pigments will forever remain in your skin causing them to be permanent. Microblading usually lasts for 1-1.5 years and will fade over time.
A touch up is recommended when you feel like they have faded way too much and your shape is no longer defined. This will vary from person to person. There are factors that affect the longevity of this treatment such as: exposure to the sun, lifestyle, skin type, retin A, chemical peels and certain skincare products. To help maximize the life of your cosmetic tattoo, please follow the aftercare instructions.

How long is the service?
It can take 2.5-3 hours, this includes consultation, paperwork, the procedure it self and going over after care instructions. Touch ups are 1.5-2 hours.
How long will it take to heal?
The peeling and healing process varies by client, but usually 7-10 days. The complete healing process takes between 4-6 weeks then you will see your final healed results.
Will it hurt?
I provide a topical numbing cream and gel through out the procedure, to minimize any discomfort. Pain tolerance, however, varies from client to client. There will be some sensitivity if you are on your menstrual cycle, you can always book after or take Tylenol.
How can I tell if microblading is for me?
If you have a substantial amount of hair and are wanting something natural that will help define your brows for a no makeup, makeup look, microblading might be for you. Microblading is only recommended for clients who want to achieve brows that are natural and blend in with existing hairs. You may still have to fill in your brows with a pencil if you are looking for something more defined. This is only to help enhance your brows and shouldn’t replace your brow products completely.
Why did my brows get patchy or disappear?
During the initial healing process, your skin will begin to PEEL. It is VERY important that you don't pick them, picking them will cause them to fade prematurely. Once the flakes have fallen off, a layer of healed skin will completely cover the hair strokes. Semi permanent pigments are being used, sometimes after the peeling process it may look like it's fading or has completely disapeared, but will slowly re-appear within 1-2 weeks, as your skin regenerates. Hair strokes can be added during your first touch up appointment.
LASHES:
What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions are silk and/or synthetic mink individual eyelashes glued on one single natural lash to enhance length, curl, fullness and thickness.
What is the difference between silk and synthetic mink?
Visually, they look very similar. It is mainly a textural difference. Synthetic mink is much lighter, softer, flexible and more like natural hair.
How long do they last?
They can last anywhere from 2-8 weeks, with a fill somewhere in between. Just depends on well you take care of them and how fast or slow your hair grows. The extensions will shed whenever your natural lash decides to shed. If your hair grows super slow, your set will probably last a little longer than someone who's hair grows very fast.
Will it damage my lashes?
Listen. I'm gonna tell you something that a lot of lash technicians will not tell you. I CARE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF YOUR LASHES! As long as the extensions are appropriately sized for your natural lashes they should not damage your lashes. Oversizing can and will weigh your natural lashes down causing them to either break or shed prematurely. I will not apply an extension to your lash if it cannot hold the weight of said lash.
Does it hurt?
Nope! Actually, most of my clients end up falling asleep. Yay for naps! Sometimes the fumes from the glue can be a little strong for those with sensitive eyes but the lashes should not poke or tug at all.
What if I have allergies/sensitivities?
A patch test is available upon request. If you do not have a reaction within 48 hours, you can choose if you'd like to have the lashes applied.
Can I use a lash growth serum? (i.e. Latisse, Lash Boost, Grande Lash, etc.)
Of course. Just as long as it's after the 24 hours after first application. The longer & thicker your natural lashes are, the more dramatic you can go with the extensions!
Can I still get extensions if I'm pregnant?
Yes, as long as you are comfortable laying on your back for an extended period of time. I've had some clients bring in special pillows or blankets to make their appointment more comfortable. Please let me know so we can plan accordingly.
Can I workout?
Of course. Just make sure you are cleaning your lashes afterwards. Sweat and oil can break down the glue and cause them to come off at a quicker rate. The cleaner the extensions are, the longer they will last you.
